The design of craftsmanship begins right with the processing of the bamboo material. Splitting bamboo is the most difficult process for all bamboo artisans. The split bamboo strips, regardless of width, thickness, and length, affect the success or failure of the finished product, including its aesthetics and load-bearing capacity.

In plain terms, "Bamboo Speaks" means letting the bamboo speak for itself. As an important medium that has carried Tainan's culture for centuries—from fish traps in aquaculture and ritual shields to dragon heads in festivals—bamboo is applied across various regions, ethnic groups, and industries throughout Tainan.

The demand for contemporary craftsmanship has always been there; it's not that older items are no longer useful, but rather that they don't necessarily have to be used the way they were in the past.
