"Craftsman's Alibi" Collaborates with Japanese Designers and Taiwanese Artisans to Convey Taiwanese Bamboo Culture

This exhibition of "The Artisan's Alibi" features Diaorau,Six bamboo craft techniques including the star pattern weave,Each technique is paired with a corresponding craft brand design product. A total of 15 contemporary craft brands from Taiwan are exhibiting,combining familiar techniques with contemporary design thinking to bring out the characteristics of Taiwanese bamboo,Transform traditional bamboo craftsmanship.
Echoing the techniques featured in this exhibition,The Shan-Jie bamboo workshop uses hexagonal weaving to convey the relationship between bamboo art's angles and grids and light and shadow.Bringing out the contemporary aesthetic of traditional techniques with concise transparency,Wuqi Studio is characterized by the chōrai (butterfly-winding) technique introduced to Taiwan from Japan, creating brooches and vases,Highlighting the enduring aesthetics of bamboo craftsmanship through antique elegance.

During this exhibition period, the majority of the artisans are of the new generation,Combining different materials into bamboo weaving by hand, pursuing natural materials,Cultivate an eco-friendly lifestyle attitude,Li Ya-ching from Essential Creative Lab, long-term resident artist at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, uses bamboo drawing, carving, and dyeingetc., conveying the unique beauty and creativity of bamboo through designs integrated into contemporary homes. Nitori from Japan also offers a series of urban wooden furniture, showcasing the possibilities of bamboo products in contemporary green living on-site.
