Starting with the properties of bamboo, it covers bamboo processing and the basics of bamboo structure construction, explaining in simple terms the process of transforming bamboo into a bamboo house, supplemented by introductions to wonderful domestic and international bamboo architecture works.

Neither grass nor wood by nature, bamboo shaped an indispensable part of our previous generation's daily life. From its heyday to the current need for transformation, the bamboo industry mirrors a century-long struggle shared by Taiwan's other traditional industries, serving as a lifestyle guide experienced together by multiple generations of Taiwanese. Through "Bamboo: An Island Lifestyle Guide to What Is Neither Grass Nor Wood," we hope to trace a path for bamboo to rediscover its contemporary value from the century-long history of Taiwan's bamboo industry.
