Fuxing District in Taoyuan City is currently Taiwan's main production area for moso bamboo and is also a settlement of the Atayal people. From the Atayal language spoken by the elders, it is possible to determine which bamboos are invasive species and which are native to the area, because only bamboo species that have existed for a long time are present in the native language spoken by the people.
