Focusing on bamboo craftsmanship while combining it with other natural materials such as glass, ceramics, metal, and fibers, she weaves together dazzling and exquisite works, bringing traditional bamboo art into a new spirit and forging a new path.
Er-Yu Studio was one of the participating exhibitors in the 2020 "Taiwan Bamboo Society x Eslite X SF Market." Founded by Huang Wen-chi, the studio is renowned for its extremely intricate bamboo weaving craftsmanship.
Crafted with a rugged texture that fully reveals the grain of the bamboo, and finished with an antique-style brushed color, the bamboo tube is transformed by the skilled hands of the bamboo artisan into a rustic yet boldly archaic bamboo candle holder. Furthermore, using bamboo to bend into a sleek overall silhouette, the middle section features a meticulously and delicately curved butterfly-woven rattan pattern as the visual focus, turning a few strips of bamboo into a floral vase that showcases the elegance and warmth of bamboo ware.
Puyuan Arts and Crafts is currently Taiwan's most robust enterprise in the research and development of laminated bamboo technology. It was founded by Mr. Dai Zheng-you in 1979. In its early days, the company primarily focused on exporting Calcutta bamboo furniture. After 1999, it also began researching and developing laminated bamboo, becoming one of the bamboo enterprises that benefited from the release of Ang Lee's 2000 film *Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon*.
Taiwan Takada Co., Ltd. is currently one of the enterprises with the most robust bamboo charcoal technology R&D capabilities in Taiwan. Founded in 1980 by Mr. Liu Ching-yun, the company was taken over by his son, Liu Chung-yueh, in 1988. Following a transition in 1997 to focus on bamboo charcoal technology research and development, the company has acquired the capabilities to develop and produce products such as bamboo charcoal, white bamboo charcoal, bamboo vinegar, and bamboo charcoal yarn.
Yueshan Workshop was founded in 2002 in Zhushan Township, Nantou County, by Liu Chao-ming, a bamboo artisan and bamboo material processor from the township. It is Taiwan's last remaining smoked bamboo processing plant, renowned for using a smoking method to transform the fresh, green color of bamboo into a deep brown hue.
